UDM Gold Mine

My husband once gave me excellent advice that has guided me though much of my decisions in my breeding program. He said, “Place quality first when making your breeding decisions and you will have no regrets” Such has been the case with our stallion UDM Gold Mine. He demonstrated his quality early on. He’s been well mannered, early to mature, fearless, correct, well balanced and gifted as an athlete. Whatever he has been asked to do, he has done in style and good form. He has consistently risen to the top of any division or endeavor in his career.

Gold Mine won his first regional show (Citrus Cup Regional) in Pleasure Driving before his second birthday. He went on to win 2 other regional titles (Southern States and Citrus Cup) as a 4- year old as well as multiple championships in Florida both in-hand and in Pleasure Driving. He was Florida Hi-Point Jr. Driving Champion for three years.

He was shown lightly in his 3-year-old year, coming out in-hand and under saddle in English Pleasure.  In his first show at the 2002 Summers End Morgan with trainer Richard Boule, he won the 3-year-old stallions class, Jr. Stallion Champion class and then Reserve Grand Champion Stallion. He was also reserve champion English Pleasure in his first show under saddle. In the fall, he went to Oklahoma at the Morgan Horse Nationals and took top ten in Pleasure Driving Stallions and Geldings after having only showed in 2 shows that year.

After his exciting 4-year old year, Gold Mine came home for a well-deserved rest and to further develop his career in the breeding shed. We also established a bank of frozen semen so that he can be available either by frozen or fresh cooled semen. His semen quality was rated excellent by Peterson and Smith Stallion Station in Ocala Florida.

In 2005, Gold Mine further demonstrated his versatility by coming out in the Western Pleasure division joining Garn Walker Stable in Auburn. California. We were very exited about this match and again Gold Mine had a stellar year finishing  #2 USEF Open Western Pleasure nationally. We were very proud that he was able to accomplish this feat as a green Western horse having to compete with many former world champions in the highly competitive Open Western division.   We believe that a well- balanced horse will travel well no matter the division.

Gold Mine has been producing foals much like himself…. pretty, well balanced, intelligent and most of all with good solid minds.  If you’re interesting in seeing the “QUALITY” that he will produce for you please use the link to view his extended pedigree and download a breeding contract.

UDM Fortune in Gold

Sparky is a 2005 palomino son by Gold Mine out of LCS She’s a Pistol (Arboria Top Gun (Arboria Noble Victor x Kendlewood Fortune) x Jax Westwood Abbie (by Morgana’s Westwood x Shakers Kalina). You’ll be hard pressed to find a more correct colt or one that is breed as well in a golden coat. I am reluctantly placing him on our sales list temporarily however he may be retained. Not only is he correct and clean legged but he also has the type of quality in movement you don’t often see. He is balanced front and back and is poetry in motion. This colt can trot! Not only does he exhibit a great laid back shoulder, he also has his shoulder nicely placed in front so he can extend naturally. All of his conformational angles tie in so nicely.. He also has an elegant curvy neck with a clean throat which helps to hinge over at the poll and onto the bit.

Sparky is the only other colt (besides Gold Mine) that we are keeping as a stallion in over 15 years which speaks for itself. We believe he is capable of going right to the top and may be yet an improvement on his sire in some areas.

He would be a top contender in the Pleasure divisions as well as well as showing great extension and engagement of the hind quarters for dressage. He is a natural born athlete.

He has been bred to his first mare and expects a foal in 08.  The breeding did not effect his wonderfully manageable disposition. He has been non-mouthy and well mannered since he was born. I love this colt for all the right reasons!~ It would also be hard to find a palomino with his pedigree. Every corner is stacked with either world champions or noteworthy in one way or another.
